In the December/January issue of Dwell Magazine, long time poster genius, Jay Ryan, wrote a letter about an article on architect Hugh Ferriss and the Shelton Hotel Towers in Minneapolis, MN, the subject of the awesome poster above. This is what Ryan had to say on the subject.
Having trained as an architectural draftsman, I appreciate not only Ferris’s ability to convey scale but his dramatic contrasts, which takes his drawings beyond the class of architectural renderings into a level more appropriate for framing and hanging.
